Kedy používame „say“ v našom kurze angličtiny online

Sloveso say používame, keď sa sústreďujeme na to, čo niekto povedal, a nie na osobu, ktorej to bolo povedané.👉 Po say zvyčajne nenasleduje osoba (iba ak pridáme „to someone“).

Príklady:

• She said she was tired.

• He said to me that he was late.

• They said it was a great idea.

🟢 Tip: Ak po slovese nasleduje presná veta alebo citát, je pravdepodobné, že treba použiť say.

Kedy používame „tell“

Sloveso tell používame, keď hovoríme o komunikácii s niekým konkrétnym.👉 Po tell teda nasleduje osoba.

Príklady:

• She told me she was tired.

• I told you to call me back!

• They told us the truth.

🟢 Tip: Ak vety obsahujú osobu, po ktorej nasleduje informácia, použite tell.
